Most likely the positive reviews that are here are friends and families or workers of this shop

Our experience with this place is that they knowingly gave us a faulty part and placed it in our vehicle. The process to get our money back or any complimentary fixes has been impossible since they immediately operate on a lack of trust. The customer is guilty first - even if you're right. Do NOT go here, it's absolute garbage.

I just wanna give props to Jay. He is such an honest guy. I had a bad experience with a mechanic over in Arlington and I didn’t have high expectations for Jay’s shop. However, I was pleasantly surprised. His rates are reasonable and he takes extra steps to make sure the car is sound. The parking isn’t the best but well worth navigating around. Lastly, the woman behind the counter, I believe she’s his wife, is super sweet. I highly recommend going here for your car needs.

Very friendly on my first visit and quick to act on my repair. I got my car back in less than a day. Return trips were less successful for service based upon a warranty offered at check-out. Unfortunately, the company hid behind non-descript rules and refused to honor their own warranty. Felt like I was arguing with Zalinsky motors.
While looking inspecting the original issue, they found several "new issues." I refused service and I have moved by business to Integrity Motors off 29.

Buyers, be aware!!!!! You deserve to go somewhere where you are respected, where honesty is valued. Not just for someone to see you as a dollar sign. They lost a loyal customer. If "gaslighting" had a mechanics logo, this place would be the poster face for the billboard. He is not there to help you just to take advantage of you. DO NOT GO OVER THERE. If you're looking for a place to have honest work done on your car, DO NOT BRING IT HERE!!! You have been warned. Read the reviews. They are very true.

Jay Kim at Virginia Auto Repair has been incredible! I'm on a tight budget and tend to be very untrusting of mechanics and up-selling things you don't need. Jay is honest about what work should be done and what can wait. He's calm and will take the time to explain your options, and will even install customer-provided parts (order online, warranty restrictions apply). His prices are fair. As I said, I'm weary of most mechanics, but I have absolute confidence in Jay. Highly recommended.

Jay and his crew worked very hard to get my car back on the road after I found and tried fixing an exhaust leak on my own. I supplied him with the replacement parts and he provided his expertise on replacing what was broken and suggesting minor maintenance items that would need addressing. His rate is very competitive for the area and I wouldn't hesitate to take my car back to him again in the future.

I’m utterly disappointed. Stay away from this place. I went to this place to change my lights. My mother advised me to go elsewhere when she read the reviews on here. However, because I’ve been here before, I thought I had some report with these people. I was wrong. I was here to change my low beam light . The place my mother asked me to go to quoted me $75. But because I came here before, I trusted them. I should have never trusted them to begin with. He told me that changing my low beam would cost me $120 ( not bright enough). Then he told me I could get the LED light for $180. I told him I couldn’t afford it. After he opened my car, he said that my socket was burned and if he installed the new lights, it wouldn’t last. Everything , including the low beam light would cost me $218. I declined as I couldn’t afford it. Really. This is not for the LED lights. He said he’d see what he can do. He ended charging me $128.16 for the low beam light. When I was driving away that evening my lights were not working. I was so so upset. I can’t believe it I got ripped off like that. I should have gone to the other guy. You love and learn.
