Had a great experience at M&L. My Acura MDX was making an unbalance kind of road noise, and wheel balancing and rotation had not helped. Dealership was quoting me struts replacement, control arm etc. - more than $2000 for repairs, without even taking the car for a test drive. I guess because the car is over 100K miles!! Mom went on a 10 minute test drive, put the car on the lift and showed me what he thought were likely the issues. He replaced 1 strut, 1 set bearings, a little wheel/brake work, rather than much more parts the dealership was saying. Cost was less than 40% of what I was quoted elsewhere. Car now runs very smooth, no noise.
Great diagnosis and fixing, and an honest and thorough person.

Took my car for a standard brake job. My car was there 3 weeks with no resolution and then passed off to another shop to finish the job. brake job easy paid for and and not completed. I had to pay the second shop to repair damage that this shop did too my car. Owner did not refund or take responsibility for bad brake job. Do not recommend.

M and L recently moved to 15 Ayers Village in Methuen back in April I think. Any reviews after that is reflecting the people who took over their old shop. Hopefully they can update it soon. This shop is great! I'm so happy to have found their new location. My car has been having so many issues since Covid and even more this year. The owner and his team have helped get my car in better shape. He does look out for his customers and really get things done right. When I tried going back I realized they were not there anymore and had new owners and brought my car somewhere else to fix a ball joint. When I found M and L again he looked at it and seen the issues/repairs that were done previously and corrected it. Friendly, very helpful at explaining the issues first and cost before they do anything, and they work pretty quick. They have alot of loyal customers so they can be busy but I'm ok with waiting because I know the job will get done right.

Such a good and honest shop. Mom the owner is the man. Very responsive and doesn't hesitate to answer any questions. He's a true car guy at heart too and will talk cars with you to. Very knowledgeable and does good, honest work for a a good price. I love coming here

Brought my car in for diagnostics because AC wasn't working and I suspected a refrigerant leak. The tech who took it on said their "electronic diagnostic sensor" detected no leak and their dye test revealed dye around the low-pressure port. Pretty sure he just recharged my AC, thinking I haven't done it, and then charged me $120.

When I came to pick up my car, I should have called him out when it wasn't blowing cool air. I thought the car needed a sec for the compressor to kick in. The tech should have known better and asked for more time to see if the issue was resolved.

Fed up with the AC not blowing cool air a few days after I'd picked the car up, I bought a recharging kit with dye that glowed under UV light. I let the car leak out the dye and discovered a HUGE leak at the connection to the chassis where the low-pressure hose leads to the evaporator. Not sure if this is the root cause of the problem but I'm surprised it didn't come up in his diagnostics, if it was done at all.

TLDR; integrity of their workmanship in question.

Mom is the best mechanic ever! Super honest and reliable and trustworthy! As long as I live within 50 miles of his shop, I will NEVER go anywhere else I've been doing business with him for 13 years and hopefully many more to come!
